Bean Barlotto    (Barlotti)

Italian shelling pole bean. Yellow and red pods, and tan seeds. Popular in Italy, used in soups and with pasta. Pick pods when they dry on the plant. Then shell!

  Bean Cascade Giant

Wonderful long purple striped bean with delicious flavor. One of the best pole bean out there, but hard to find these days. Very long pods that can reach 30 cm, straight, round, nice quality. Astonishingly long pods reaching more than 60 cm in length. Better picked at 30-40 cm. Used in stir fries or cooked, mainly in oriental cuisine. Rich bean flavor. Tolerant to heat. Do not sow in cold soil. 80 days.

Bean Marengo

Climbing Romano type with long, flattened yellow pods. Stringless, stays tender for a long time. Up to 20 cm long, quite thin (5 mm). Short internodal spacing:  pods grow closely together, right from the bottom all the way to the top of the plant (click thumbnails for larger view). Early for a climbing type: 65 days. Rare!

Bean Beurre de Rocquencourt  

French filet variety with slender golden yellow pods. Thin, absolutely stringless, tender beans about 12 to 15 cm long. Excellent flavor. Bush plants, about 40 cm high.   Bean Black Eye Pea  (Dolique Oeil Noir)
