Cucumber Schlesische Landgurke
German heirloom characterized by large plump fruits with a very thick flesh and a thin, smooth skin. Some stripes on the tips. Slightly curved (click thumbnails). Very thick, dense, greenish white flesh. Thin skin, does not need to be peeled. Pick cucumbers at a maximum length of 25 cm. Long, vigorous vine with large leaves. Reported to be grown in Germany to make large pickled gherkins. About 50 days. Extremely rare!

Cucumber Spuredda Bianca (aka.: Spuredda Leccese Bianco)
Nice plump fruits with smooth, pale green skin covered with a fine peach like fuzz. Incredibly tender flesh and a great, sweet cucumber taste. Excellent! Like the armenian cucumber, this is a Cucumis melo. One of the earliest of the Carosellos at 55 days. Small, compact vines about 75 cm long. Pick fruits when they are young (160 grams). Very rare!

Cucumber West Indies Gherkin Cucumber Gherkin (Cucumis anguria)
Probably the smallest cucumber in the world, at only 2 inches. A different species altogether, from the West Indies (C. anguria). Original ancestor of the pickle. Pick fruits when they are still young and pale. The soft spines covering the fruits are easily removable by hand. Can be eaten fresh or pickled. Nice flavor. 60-70 days. .

Cucumber Paris Pickling (Cornichon de Paris ,Vert Petit de Paris, Amélioré de Bourbonne)
Prolific variety grown mainly for pickles. The sweet, tasty little fruits can also be picked later as nice slicing cucumbers. Old french heirloom dating back to 1892. Known in Europe as Ameliore de Bourbonne. 50-60 days (pickles), or 70-80 days (for cucumbers).
